Happy Taco School: Day 2

Wow! It's been a while since my last post, almost two months! Let's just say the past few months have been a happy whirlwind of activity: Thanksgiving, looking into grad schools, meeting Hero's mission president, Christmas, New Year's, and sending Hero off for his last undergraduate semester.

Now we can return to some sense of normalcy around here and the beginning of a new project for sweet Fiona and I. During Hildebrandt's morning nap, Fiona and I have our own little scholastic adventure, a pre-preschool hour if you will. We call it Happy Taco School (obviously)

This week's theme is Bundling up, and today we did an art project to introduce color associations.

I cut out mitten shapes from construction paper and put dollops of paint on wax paper (which makes a great disposable pallet.

We painted Fiona's hands a color and then did imprints on the mittens associated with that color. For instance, blue is used to make green and purple so we put a blue hand print on the green and purple mittens.

Fiona really enjoyed the experience and I cannot wait to hang these little mittens up!
